Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Friday 24th May 2019, Sirius College, Shepparton Campus celebrated its Annual Iftar Dinner Program at G.V. Hotel, Shepparton. The dinner was attended by the parents, students, friends, family members, former Sirius College students and our school staff. We were delighted to host approximately 170 guests. Students from different year levels presented various items relating to Islam especially about Ramadan and Eid ul Fitar. These items included recitation and translation of some verses of the Quran, performances on various nasheeds and speeches about different topics.

I truly appreciate all who participated and performed during the Iftar Dinner Program. Students spent a lot of energy and effort to prepare their items. Thanks to our hosts, Ibrahim and Sibel, our stage managers, and all the student managers. The Iftar Dinner Program was a great opportunity to meet our parents, friends and families, face to face. It was fantastic to see our former Sirius College students with their families, enjoying the company of their old and new friends. We are very thankful to the community members who attended the Iftar Dinner Program and for taking the time out of their precious, packed routines and spending it with us.

Each year at Sirius College, we hold a Religion and Values Fun Week for our students. This program aims to offer profound and amusing extra-curricular activities. This year, Sirius College celebrated R & V Fun Week from 17/06/2019 to 20/06/2019. Different activities were organised for the students during their classes which included recitation of Quran, Hadith and Adhan competitions. We offered a general knowledge competition for Year 3’s to Year 6’s. During this week, students participated in activities relating to the basic Islamic religious practices e.g. belief, worship, fasting, alms giving and pilgrimage. By participating, students explored and understood the basic beliefs and learnt how Islam guides Muslims in their daily lives.
